Thank You, Thank You!

Thanks everyone for your input on my bedroom!  It's great having a fresh perspective.  I've decided to stick with the "curtains" and bedding that I have and take Julie's suggestion and add a black and white blanket at the end of the bed.  I had thought about adding some bold felt accents to the top of the duvet but wasn't sure how washable it would be so I'm going with the blanket.  I ordered this one:
I found it on sale but it was still pretty pricey - I think I paid around $135 with shipping from Australia.  Way more than I've ever spend on a blanket before!  I had a big garage sale this weekend and did really well so I decided I deserved the splurge.  We ended up making over $500 at our sale, which shocked me!  And to think I almost didn't participate (it was a neighborhood sale) since I thought I didn't think I had enough stuff to put in.  Now my closets are lighter and I'll hopefully have a great blanket for my troubles. I'll post an update when it gets here.  Next on my wish list for the bedroom are some different night stands.  The hunt is on!

  2. A nice splurge, the blankets are lovely. Now I'm inspired to host a big yard sale- hopefully with the same success you had!

  4. Aww, you made me feel all smart or sumthin! Sorry you're having blanket woes, but if it makes you feel better, my hubby came home from a trip from China with a leopard print silk blanket that he paid the world for and proudly proclaimed that we don't need to buy another blanket for 15 years. I'm decorating vicariously thru you!
